So...who am I?

Hi, I’m Lisa.  Born and bred in Bolton, I am your typical down-to-earth Northern lass, known for my warm, friendly nature and quick wit.  And yes, I do have the accent to boot!

Having worked with families in a variety of roles for over 25 years, I consider myself to be a very good listener and feel so privileged to be able to share in some of the most important moments in people’s lives.  I just love hearing and re-telling your stories!

I consider myself to be open-minded and inclusive; an LGBTQ+ ally and I’m also always open to learning more about other cultures, religions and communities.

I am fascinated by people, our relationships with others and how we all weave together to make this magical thing we call life.  Nothing inspires me more than hearing about people working together to make amazing memories and helping each other through the more challenging or unexpected times in life.

I get so much enjoyment from the simple things and am a lover of all things outdoors, music, travel and languages.  I’m at my happiest when spending time with friends and family, sharing in good conversation, good wine and good food.  But I’m equally happy at the front of the mosh pit or strumming my guitar!

I am multi-lingual having spent many years both studying and teaching Spanish, French and Japanese.

I was also lucky enough to spend two and a half years living in Japan, which is where the cherry blossom inspired Sakura Ceremonies came from.

Why Sakura Ceremonies?

Sakura means ‘cherry blossom’ in Japanese.

Every spring in Japan, the country is awash with these beautiful flowers. They symbolise new beginnings, hope, renewal and the fragility of nature.

The flower is so important that people go flower viewing, known as hanami. All over the country, people celebrate the cherry blossom and share in memorable times with their family and friends.

Some of my favourite memories in life go back to my time in Japan underneath the cherry blossom. Sharing food, drink, laughter and fireworks with friends.

Therefore, I feel that the cherry blossom perfectly encapsulates all of the special moments in life that we choose to celebrate and commemorate.
